Navigating Conflict with Nonviolent Communication

Navigating Conflict With Nonviolent Communication

How we interact with one another, even at the smallest level, can ripple out to create change in the world.

Yet, how many of us experience conversations in our day to day lives and work that are truly grounded in understanding, empathy, and transformation?

In this workshop, you will join other women working in food systems, sustainability, regeneration and social and environmental justice to explore the approach of Nonviolent Communication and how it can help us be empathetic leaders of change.

Can we have any real change without empathy?

The foundation of understanding the systems we are a part of and want to change, and to creating new possibilities to move forward, lies in connecting more empathetically to ourselves, others and the world around us.

The Great Full is partnering with Empathie Stadt Zurich to host this workshop, where we will explore how we can peacefully and effectively resolve conflict and collaborate more compassionately to co-create change.

The Nonviolent Path

Nonviolent Communication builds capacity to connect with ourselves and others to create a world that works for everyone.

Through the method of Nonviolent Communication, we will explore in a real and practical way how we can foster empathy, connection and resolve conflict in our professional and personal lives.

Together, we will explore tools and approaches that help us build our capacity to:

  • Listen empathetically

  • Express ourselves compassionately and effectively, even in difficult conversations and conflict

  • Build stronger relationships and collaborations by bringing both authenticity and care for connection with the other party

  • Build our self-compassion

  • Collaborate and give and receive feedback with others

You will leave with a toolkit of practices that you can take away and keep practicing after!
